Meta-analysis is a form of systematic review used to quantitatively integrate findings from multiple studies. Researchers identify all relevant research—published articles, theses, and unpublished studies—pertinent to a specific topic and apply statistical procedures to synthesize the results and present a collective conclusion. A systematic review is a structured process of integrating all available evidence with a clearly defined research objective. It uses a predetermined methodology for selecting studies (primary studies), setting inclusion and exclusion criteria, collecting data, and analyzing the results in an objective and reproducible manner. Systematic reviews are essential in evidence-based medicine (EBM), which combines the best available external evidence with clinical expertise to inform clinical decision-making. As a core component of EBM, systematic reviews guide treatment by summarizing the current state of research. To support this effort, clinicians and research methodology experts have formed an international network known as the Cochrane Collaboration, which continuously publishes up-to-date systematic reviews.

摘要
