Moral and Political Philosophy of Economic and Spatial Inequalities

This chapter presents a critical analysis of existing theoretical lenses on inequalities and justiceTheories of justice and proposes that spatial injusticesSpatialjustice are a primary consequence of how activities and processes are organized in space. More importantly, they can be produced even when moral or sociopolitical principles within the existing frameworks of justice are not explicitly violated. This points to the need for a spatial theory of inequalities and justice in which the physicsPhysics of the city of the city: its sizeCity size, internal locationalLocations and networkedNetworks structure, and its relationship to other cities, should be considered as a primary organizational principle that should be considered in tandem with other moral and political principles.
