Impact of Flexibility Strategies in Italian Renewable Energy Communities
摘要
Renewable Energy Communities (RECs) play a crucial role in advancing energy transition by optimizing local renewable energy resources. This study investigates flexibility strategies within RECs, particularly focusing on energy sharing mechanisms and storage integration. A Python-based model is developed to simulate energy flows and optimize resource allocation. The model is applied to a future REC in Sicily and different scenarios are developed and compared in order to assess the impact of flexibility measures on self-consumption and grid interaction. Purpose-built indicators will be defined to permit cross-comparisons. Results demonstrate the potential of advanced energy management in RECs to enhance efficiency and resilience, contributing to a more sustainable and decentralized energy system.
