The management of festival tourism activities falls within the scope of project management, characterized by its complexity, non‑routine nature, and multi‑stakeholderStakeholder coordination. Festival tourism project management is constrained by time, budget, resources, venues, and manpower. To cater for the changing preferences of tourists and the mission of each event, planners encounter a set of interdependent procedures that involve goal setting, policy formulation, environmental assessment, strategy selection and evaluation, execution planning, monitoring mechanisms, and post‑event feedback. The Chapter offers a review of festival event management, its core features, the critical steps involved, and the convergence of various management domains—such as marketing, financial planning, human resources, risk managementRisk management—to achieve festivals and enhance cultural and financial value. Applying a cultural marketing lens, it addresses the character and meaning of folk festival cultureCulture and models cooperation between industry, government, academia, and civil society. The aim is to adopt cooperative promotion strategies strengthening TaiwanTaiwan’s festival tourism industry. This means that through practical management mechanisms and targeted marketing plans to ensure that festival-related cultural goods are brought to the marketMarket, creativity, cultural capital improvement, and other goods are guaranteed to remain on the agenda, whilst the cultural authenticityAuthenticity of the eventEvent is preserved, resulting in value creation in sustainable economic ways.
