The world has always been and continues to change, going through periods of relative peace and relative upheaval. Recent history shows that major global shifts in power seem to be coming in more frequent succession due to the fact that our world in a figurative sense is becoming smaller and smaller. The time it takes to travel to or send a message is a fraction of what our ancestors could have even imagined a century ago.
