Sustainability in Higher Education is a worldwide issue that falls under “Sustainable Development Goal: 4” (SDG#4), aims to provide high-quality education. It is one of the seventeen universal SDGs established by the United Nations. The article explored the principles of sustainable development, emphasizing the significance of incorporating sustainability into higher education. Additionally, the research examined several instances of successful outcomes and provided guidance on strategizing the incorporation of sustainability practices in higher educational institutions. The article further investigated the utilization of sophisticated digital technologies viz. AI, IoT, Big Data, Cloud Computing etc. in higher education, including possibilities, difficulties it presents, as well as recommendations for improving procedures and their consequences for developing nations like Papua New Guinea (PNG).
