Simulation Electric Field and Particle Motion in GIS
摘要
The metal particle produced in the process of production and assembly of gas insulated switchgear (GIS) will cause insulation flashover, breakdown and other failures, thus causing major system accidents such as electrical equipment burning. Based on the coupling electric field and particle tracking, electric field intensity of GIS is simulated, and the 3D simulation model of metal particle movement is established based on particle tracking simulation. Factors affecting the movement of metal particle include electric field strength, particle size and particle position. The results show that the metal particle move toward the high voltage conductor due to Coulomb force and gravity force after jumping in the cavity. Charge reversal occurs when metal particles collide with high-voltage conductors, charge quantity also decreases, and moves from the conductor to the shell. Therefore, the metal particle reciprocate in the cavity. When spherical metal particle moves stably in the cavity, the maximum velocity of spherical metal particle is about 5.13 m/s.
