Cybersecurity in the Digital Age: Threats, Challenges, and Financial Considerations
摘要
In the digital era, cybersecurity has become essential for safeguarding organizational assets against increasingly sophisticated threats. The expansion of cloud computing, remote work, and interconnected systems has widened the attack surface, leading to complex challenges in maintaining data confidentiality, integrity, and availability. This chapter examines the evolving threat landscape and financial constraints faced by organizations, particularly those with limited resources. Although effective, proprietary cybersecurity solutions often impose high costs. Open-source cybersecurity tools offer a viable, cost-effective approach as an alternative. Additionally, the chapter explores the benefits and challenges of adopting open-source solutions, including trust, maintenance, and scalability, are explored. By comparing open-source and proprietary models, the study highlights how the strategic adoption of open tools can enhance cybersecurity posture while ensuring economic sustainability.
