Human-Centred Digital Twin: Concepts, Methods, and Technologies
摘要
In an era characterized by pervasive digital technologies, the Digital Twin (DT) concept is evolving significantly across diverse domains, particularly within manufacturing. In the emerging manufacturing paradigm of Industry 5.0, DTs are not only powerful tools but also subject to its impact. Industry 5.0 does not seek to remove human involvement; rather, it aims to optimize human roles, foster the integration of human creativity with advanced technological capabilities, and uphold human-centricity. Consequently, DTs in manufacturing should consider human roles throughout their design and operational phases to provide more human-centred solutions. This chapter delves into the realm of the Human-Centred Digital Twin (HCDT), which encapsulates different concepts such as human digital twin and social digital twin. This study provides an overview of potential human roles in digital twins. Then, it investigates data-related, model-related, and service-related issues and explores potential techniques and the various technologies that can be employed in HCDT. Through this exploration, our goal is to stimulate further research and dialogue on the transformative potential of HCDT and its mutual impact on individual and society in the digital age.
