Inhibition Efficiency of Honeysuckle Plant Extract as an Eco-Friendly Inhibitor for Acid Corrosion of Mild Steel
摘要
A plant extract of Honeysuckle (HSE) was prepared and investigated on mitigate the corrosion of mild steel in 1 M HCl at different temperatures. The corrosion performance was evaluated by weight loss, electrochemistry and surface observation. Weight loss data indicated that the inhibition efficiency reached to 89% at the dosage of 300 mg/L HSE. Electrochemical test results are in consistent with weight loss data. Results of thermodynamics indicate both physisorption and chemisorption occurred, which may be the cause of good corrosion inhibition property.
