In this chapter, we establish the existence of a common fixed point for pairs of sub-compatible and reciprocal continuous mappings (or compatible and subsequential continuous mappings) that satisfy a generalized \((\psi ,\phi )\) -weak integral contractive condition involving cubic terms of distance functions. Additionally, a sufficient condition is discussed for the existence of a solution to certain functional equations arising in dynamic programming.
