摘要

The rising global demand for dairy and meat products has intensified the need for effective real-time cattle health monitoring systems that boost productivity, ensure animal welfare, and promote sustainability. Despite advancements in livestock management, there is a gap in integrating IoT technologies, wearable sensors, communication protocols, and cloud computing for sustainable continuous monitoring. Existing studies often focus on individual aspects like health or behavior, lacking a cohesive framework for comprehensive decision-making that incorporates sustainability practices. This paper reviews technologies in cattle monitoring within Precision Livestock Farming (PLF), highlighting the integration of IoT devices and cloud platforms forming an IoT framework for sustainable real-time monitoring and reduced environmental impact. Innovations in energy efficiency and cost reduction are crucial for enhancing accessibility and long-term sustainability. Futhermore, integrating machine learning for predictive analytics can further enhance decision-making and early detection of health issues. By addressing current challenges, IoT sensors and wearable devices can support responsible livestock farming aligned with global sustainability goals, providing valuable insights for stake-holders.
