The MCDK
摘要
Helena, the first child in the family, was born at full term by normal spontaneous vaginal delivery. She was found to have cysts in the kidneys and was promptly referred to the paediatrician for further management. Helena’s birth weight was 3.2 kg with an Apgar score of 9 at the first minute. Her perinatal and neonatal period was uneventful. Physical examination was unremarkable. Her blood pressure was normal at 65/35 mmHg at birth. Her renal function test and urinalysis were normal. There was no family history of polycystic kidney disease or chronic kidney disease. How is this cyst different from a simple renal cyst?
