Electronic Reconnaissance Satellite Countermeasures: A Naval Perspective
摘要
The advent of satellite reconnaissance has offered substantial potential to significantly improve maritime domain awareness owing to high vantage point and elimination of risk of confrontation. This research explains the use of SIGINT satellites in naval domain and the vulnerabilities it poses to naval forces. The emission sources of naval platforms are discussed to highlight the susceptibility and detectability of naval platforms. Finally, tactical and technical countermeasures against SIGINT satellites are discussed which can help alleviate the risks posed by satellite surveillance.
