Smart Apparel for Outdoor Sports

The growing popularity of outdoor sports has led to a concomitant increase in concerns regarding the safety of these activities. Traditional reflective materials and fluorescent coatings have been shown to have limited visibility in nighttime and low-light conditions, which can impede the ability of athletes to respond effectively in emergency situations. This paper explores the potential of electro-luminescent fibers in the context of outdoor sports apparel. The aim is to develop a new type of smart outdoor sports apparel that integrates electro-luminescent fibers and fiber lithium batteries. The electro-luminescent fibers possess a number of advantageous properties, including softness, lightness, and a controllable diameter. These fibers can be embedded into garments through a variety of weaving methods to provide significant active luminescent effects. The fiber lithium battery provides stable power support for the luminescent fibers, ensuring that they continue to emit light at night or under low-light conditions. Through the integration of style design, fit optimization, and color matching, the garment design in this paper not only enhances functionality but also considers aesthetics and practicality.
