At the Edge of Change: Framing Thailand’s Tropical Thresholds and Climate Resilience
摘要
Thailand finds itself at a climatic crossroads. The country is experiencing a complex confluence of demographic, infrastructure, and environmental changes as it straddles the disputed boundary of Southeast Asia's urban-industrial growth and the monsoonal tropics. The southern and eastern regions, which are characterized by water-rich ecosystems, coastal vulnerabilities, and escalating development pressures, are where this is most noticeable (Srinivasan et al., 2024). These are frontlines of possibility rather than merely areas of risk. These areas become vital test sites for how communities and cities adjust, change, and eventually prosper in the face of accelerating climate change.
