In the light of substantial improvements brought by artificial intelligence to educational practice, a new era of immersive environments supported by the Metaverse has begun. This powerful medium has led to the advancement of teaching methods and provided opportunities to reshape the traditional educational paradigm. The project “The Empowered Teacher for the META Future” focuses on strengthening cultural, social, and personal identities in the contemporary era through a dynamic, inclusive 3D online space for communication, teamwork, and promotion of cultural heritage. The final product presents two possible teaching scenarios in the Metaverse supported by a perspective plug-in for the Edmodo platform and includes an elaborate plan for professional training programs aimed at cultivating digital competencies among in-service teachers. The SWOT feasibility analysis identified numerous strengths and opportunities for using the Metaverse in educational settings which led us to further examination through an online survey assessing in-service teachers’ attitudes toward the potential application of Metaverse in educational settings. The survey involved 111 in-service teachers in Serbia and demonstrated a positive attitude toward the Metaverse’s capacity to improve the educational process.
