Digital Activism in Tajikistan: Gender Advocacy by Youth on Social Media
摘要
This chapter examines how young people in Tajikistan use digital platforms to advance gender advocacy and challenge social norms. Davronova analyses social media content, online campaigns, and youth-led digital initiatives, showing how activists create alternative spaces for feminist discourse in a conservative environment. The chapter highlights both the empowering potential of digital activism and the constraints posed by state surveillance, limited digital rights, and online harassment. It offers an important contribution to understanding how youth mobilise gender awareness through new media in Central Asia.
