The Migration Patterns of Turkmens After the COVID-19 Pandemic
摘要
Rozyyeva explores post-pandemic migration among Turkmen nationals, focusing on political restrictions, economic instability, labour market pressures, and social aspirations driving mobility. The chapter documents how border closures, travel limitations, and pandemic-induced economic shocks reshaped migration routes and strategies. Many Turkmens have increasingly sought opportunities in Türkiye and the Gulf, while also relying on informal networks and irregular pathways. The analysis underscores the role of state control, limited domestic opportunities, and high unemployment in shaping outward mobility, offering one of the few evidence-based academic accounts of contemporary Turkmen migration.
