Trees of the Salicaceae family, such as the genus Salix and the genus Populus, are often used for afforestation to stop sand movement and stabilize sand dunes. Salicaceae trees are highly resistant to the effects of sand movement, especially sand burial, so Salix psammophila and Salix matsudana are often planted in the Mu Us Sandy Land, and the Populus simonii is often planted from the Mu-Us Sandy Land into the adjacent Kubuqi Desert (Fig. 9.1).

摘要

Trees of the Salicaceae family, such as the genus Salix and the genus Populus, are often used for afforestation to stop sand movement and stabilize sand dunes. Salicaceae trees are highly resistant to the effects of sand movement, especially sand burial, so Salix psammophila and Salix matsudana are often planted in the Mu Us Sandy Land, and the Populus simonii is often planted from the Mu-Us Sandy Land into the adjacent Kubuqi Desert (Fig. 9.1).
