An Insight Study on the Flood Mitigation System in Puchong: An Analysis Using Statistical Investigation

In the past few years, flooding issue had become a frequent incident happened at the Puchong area. Although the government had allocated a huge budget in constructing the flood mitigation project, flooding issue still occurs frequently at the Damansara-Puchong Highway (LDP) located near the IOI Mall at Puchong. Therefore, it is crucial for the authorities to resolve the problem that suffering the public immediately. This research study focuses on investigating the public (gender) perception on Smart Flood Mitigation system at Puchong area that help the public to avoid entering to the flood area. A total of 137 samples were collected and undergoes quantitative analysis. The analyzed results revealed that most of the variables are significant no differences on gender perception while introducing the flood mitigation system at Puchong area. However, there is one difference perception on the smart flood mitigation system which is the enabling to resolve the flood issues is having a different perception between male and female respondents. With this study, it provides an insight recommendation for further investigation in gender behavior differences which could bring detailed information for enhancing public perception and acceptance of using smart flood mitigation system throughout the whole Malaysia.
