摘要

The metalworking sector in Peru is part of one of the main sectors that contribute significantly to the country’s economy. This work proposes a model based on Lean Manufacturing techniques to improve the rate of on-time order delivery, as it has an approach that is perfectly adapted to the needs of the metalworking sector. The validation was carried out in a Peruvian metalworking company, where techniques such as 5S, TPM, SMED, and work standardization were implemented using pilot tests and simulations with the Arena software. The main result was a significant improvement in the rate of on-time deliveries, evidenced by a 15% increase in the efficiency of production processes. The main takeaway is that adopting Lean Manufacturing not only improves lead times, but also optimizes internal processes, resulting in increased competitiveness and customer satisfaction. This study demonstrates that, with the proper application of these techniques, companies in the metal-working sector in Peru can achieve substantial improvements in their operational performance.
