Analyzing the Intersection Between Tafakor (Reflection), Shura (Consultation), and Ijma (Consensus) in Islam and Habermasian Theory of Communicative Action
摘要
This chapter explores the applicability of Habermasian self-reflectivity across various disciplines. Initially, it delves into Habermasian philosophy as a framework for critical self-reflection. Subsequently, it conducts a detailed analysis of prominent Islamic principles: Tafakor (reflection), Shura (consultation), and Ijma (consensus), exploring their potential alignment with Habermasian thought. Through this analysis, it highlights the emerging synergy between Habermasian self-reflectivity and elements of the Islamic tradition. Finally, the chapter underscores the nuanced interaction between Western philosophical paradigms and Islamic philosophical tenets, suggesting a notable synergy between Habermasian thought and Islamic epistemological principles.
