The Potential Biological Activities Components Screening of Codonopsis pilosula (Franch.) Nannf. Using Bioinformatics and Network Pharmacological Analysis Techniques
摘要
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), exemplified by Codonopsis pilosula (DangShen, 党参), derives its therapeutic efficacy from complex “multi-component, multi-target” synergistic mechanisms. Yet, these mechanisms have long remained a scientific “black box.” This chapter systematically elaborates on how to integrate bioinformatics and network pharmacology to establish a powerful research paradigm for deciphering such intricate mechanisms. It details an integrated research framework spanning active compound screening, target prediction, network construction, and analysis. By reviewing key applications in oncology, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological disorders—with special emphasis on C. pilosula case studies—this work demonstrates the significant effectiveness of this integrated approach. Finally, the chapter outlines future directions, including developing dynamic multi-omics databases and AI-driven predictive models, positioning this integrated strategy as a core driver for modernizing and globalizing TCM in the era of precision medicine.
