The COVID-19 pandemic significantly disrupted global mobility and exposed the vulnerabilities of migrant populations worldwide. This chapter provides a brief overview of the impact of the pandemic on migrants in Indonesia, focusing on both international migrant workers and internally displaced persons (IDPs)—and analyzes their adaptation strategies and the policy responses at various governance levels. Using a mixed-methods approach that integrates qualitative research with statistical data, the authors propose a novel, location-based typology (origin, transit, destination, and disaster areas) to analyze diverse migrant experiences and vulnerabilities during the crisis. The chapter also outlines the collaborative research approach by BRIN and BPS and the book's structure, aiming to inform targeted interventions and future crisis preparedness.

摘要
