In this chapter, we discuss what intensity is expressed by each intensive variable of thermodynamics as intuitively as possible. The topics are the first law of thermodynamics for an open system, definition of entropy for an open system, Gibbs’ fundamental relation for a multi-component system, Clausius inequality extended for an open system, and the second law of thermodynamics (thermodynamic force and thermodynamic flow).

摘要

In this chapter, we discuss what intensity is expressed by each intensive variable of thermodynamics as intuitively as possible. The topics are the first law of thermodynamics for an open system, definition of entropy for an open system, Gibbs’ fundamental relation for a multi-component system, Clausius inequality extended for an open system, and the second law of thermodynamics (thermodynamic force and thermodynamic flow).
