The Need for Participatory Action Research as Victim Assistance Methodology for Vulnerable Towards Sexual Exploitation
摘要
This chapter investigates the importance of applying participatory action research (PAR) to assist victims, especially those who are marginalized. This analysis mainly focuses on victim support systems with a critical evaluation of how efficient these systems are in India. It investigates key aspects like victim advocacy, legal aid, and community programmes aimed at helping people affected by crime. The aim is to contribute to the ongoing discourse about the enhancement and expansion of victim support services. This chapter seeks to offer comprehensive assistance to victims, thereby empowering them in their journey towards recovery through PAR; it will present findings from rehabilitation and protective homes in India. In this regard, it encourages active participation from the affected parties to collectively address their issues and concerns. To create a more inclusive and effective support system that promotes greater resilience and well-being among vulnerable populations, PAR must be embedded into victim assistance initiatives.
