Re-situating the Filipino Migrant Musician Experience
摘要
In this concluding chapter, I summarise the book by outlining its salient points and their implications for the broader understanding of migration, labour, and the music industry. In addition, understanding the experiences of migrants and musicians from the Global South who work in the Global North raises issues and concerns about the economics and cultural politics of music performance as work and cultural participation. This is especially significant to understand with the lens of transnationalism and translocality while also bringing to the table a fresh perspective on transnational and (g)localised experiences and concepts (i.e., empirical, methodological, theoretical) that have been neglected in Western literature, including the ways in which OPM and Australian music are redefined and recontextualised.
