The chapter concludes by discussing Australia’s attractiveness especially after the Covid-19 crisis and provides policy implications for relevant stakeholders and Australia as a whole to enhance its intake of international students.

摘要

This chapter examines the attractiveness of Australia to international tertiary students in the post-pandemic era. Findings from 12 semi-structured interviews with admissions managers and education agents revealed key factors driving international students to choose Australia as their tertiary education destination in the post-pandemic world. The chapter deploys the Actor-Network Theory to analyse and discuss the findings that emerged from the thematic analysis, highlighting the role of non-human (such as climate and geographical proximity) and human actors (such as onshore relatives and friends, and education agents) in international education. The chapter concludes by discussing Australia’s attractiveness especially after the Covid-19 crisis and provides policy implications for relevant stakeholders and Australia as a whole to enhance its intake of international students.
