In the wake of digitalization, all spheres of knowledge have been fundamentally changed during the past twenty years. Moreover, the AI revolution has begun to prevail in the landscape. Since its inception, giant strides have been made in the field of translation although some believe it is not as strenuous as it is in other fields, for it started late and witnessed many challenges due to varied language structures including equivalence at different levels. The purpose of this paper is to explore the correctness of AI-generated translations of a financial text from Arabic into English. The evaluation of these translations was carried out against certain criteria: fidelity to the Arabic structure, punctuation, lexical correspondence, semantic meaning, fluency, and language style. The current study employed Baker’s model to text translation and attempted to show the tone, formality, and authoritativeness of the translations. The study has shown that AI-powered translations have improved in comparison with Google translation despite the need for human intervention to polish up the translations.

摘要
