This paper focuses on the research of aluminum - based conductors for power cables. Due to the scarcity of copper resources and the cost - effectiveness of aluminum - based conductors, their research and application are of great significance. This research is crucial for the State Grid Corporation in cost - reduction and resource - optimization, promotes the technological development of the wire and cable industry, and brings economic and social benefits. However, current research has limitations. In material research, the understanding of alloying element mechanisms and product standards needs improvement. Connection accessories face problems such as reliability and life - prediction. Compressive creep performance research requires better experimental methods and evaluation indexes. The research content involves material preparation and performance optimization, connection component development, and testing method research, using experimental, theoretical, and simulation methods. Key research points aim to enhance material performance, optimize connection technologies, and establish accurate evaluation systems. Difficulties lie in complex influence mechanisms, parameter determination, and evaluation system establishment, with corresponding solutions proposed. Future research should strengthen fundamental research, improve standardization, promote industrialization, and focus on new application scenarios.
