The state of arc contact is an important factor that affects the electrical life of high voltage circuit breaker, the decrease of circuit breaker’s electrical life means the reduction of interrupter breaking capacity and insulation capacity. During the operation of high voltage circuit breaker, the high temperature electric arc will erode the contacts. After eroding the contacts, the performance of the circuit breaker will drop sharply. We disassembled a circuit breaker of a power station in operation. After that, we also tested and analyzed‌ the performance of the arc contacts.
