Stability and Displacement Analysis of Active Dump Slope Using Micromechanical Modelling
摘要
A mine dump is a man-made structure, and its strength is not natural because it is composed of fragmented rock, soil, clay, and silt. The dump material’s characteristics are discrete. Therefore, active internal dump slope stability performance analysis is essential for mining personnel and machinery safety. This study used the discrete element method (DEM) for the internal dump slope stability and displacement analysis. PFC2D software was used for the dump stability analysis. Dump slope stability and displacement analysis gravitational load were used, and actual field conditions were generated in the model. The investigation results indicate the dump slope is stable under gravity force, and maximum displacement was found at the slope middle region. This study will be helpful in understanding the dump slope stability using discrete element analysis.
