Development Current Situation of Cross-Border e-Commerce Between Sichuan Province and Central Asia (Part 1)

As a pivotal province in Western China, Sichuan stands at the strategic intersection of the “Belt and Road Initiative” (BRI) and the Yangtze River Economic Belt, serving as the linchpin of the national “Westward Opening-up” strategy. Endowed with a distinct geostrategic location and abundant natural resources, the province plays a critical role in regional development. During his inspection of Sichuan in July 2023, President Xi Jinping articulated precise strategic directives: “We must adhere to a unified ‘Sichuan-Chongqing’ strategic framework, strengthen the coordinated development of the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle, and establish a strategic highland for opening up to the West. The region must become a new base for international competitiveness, a crucial growth pole, and a novel engine for high-quality development in the western region as rapidly as possible.”
