摘要

This chapter explores the pricing power of product culture (PPPC), addressing the neglect of cultural factors in traditional pricing theory. It emphasizes PPPC’s significance from global, industrial, enterprise, and consumer perspectives. Key cultural elements influencing pricing are identified: inherent product culture (aesthetic, spiritual, social, brand values), corporate culture (image, endorsements), and regional culture (design, packaging). The chapter argues that demand-oriented pricing is most suitable for cultural pricing, as cultural value is intangible and demand-dependent, making cost-based methods impractical. The analysis reveals that cultural value can reshape product pricing by exceeding cost constraints, enabling cultural premiums (e.g., in luxury goods). PPPC is concluded to be pivotal for gaining competitive advantage in global markets.
