Industrial Culture Spillover
摘要
This chapter explores industrial culture spillover, focusing on the 20% phenomenon. When a region’s manufacturing value-added exceeds 20% of the global total, its industrial culture shifts from endogenous development to external spillover, enhancing national soft power and rule-making capability, as seen in the USA and Japan. It clarifies the nature of spillover (cultural, technical, benefit-related) and its social value. Three key manifestations are analyzed in detail: assembly line culture (Fordism), lean production culture (Toyota), and service-oriented manufacturing culture (digital era). The findings highlight that industrial culture spillover is a hallmark of an industrial powerhouse, driving systemic upgrades in international competition and global value chain positioning.
