This study aims to examine the rising threat of dengue fever in India, a challenge exacerbated by climate change, and explore how collaboration between India and Japan can significantly enhance India’s healthcare infrastructure. As climate change alters environmental conditions, India faces an increasing public health crisis with dengue, a mosquito-borne disease that thrives in warmer temperatures and fluctuating rainfall patterns. In contrast, Japan has developed a robust healthcare system adept at managing infectious diseases, including dengue, after a dengue outbreak in Tokyo in 2014. This unexpected outbreak drew considerable attention due to dengue being a relatively unfamiliar disease in Japan. In response, the Japanese government strengthened its public health policies, adopting a multi-sectoral framework to address global infectious diseases. Japan’s response included comprehensive disease surveillance, advanced diagnostic tools, and rigorous public health interventions. Through a comparative analysis, this study underscores the importance of India-Japan cooperation in tackling societal challenges through healthcare innovation, highlighting how this partnership can lead to effective and sustainable solutions to the health impacts of climate change.
