Greening India’s Power Grid: Unlocking Switchgear Technology Adoption Using Theory of Consumption Values
摘要
As India’s power sector is progressing with exponential growth, the power industry faces a significant challenge in reducing its dependency on SF₆-based switchgear, a potent greenhouse gas. In due course, with changes in regulations and increased corporate sustainability commitments, the transition to green switchgear technologies is no longer optional but has become compulsory. This study employs a rigorous mixed-method approach, integrating focus group discussions and a cross-sectional survey (498 responses) analysed through structural equation modelling (SEM). The findings show important adoption drivers, including environmental benefits, regulatory incentives, cost efficiency, technological advancements, and industry leadership. These insights provide a strategic roadmap for policymakers, manufacturers, and industry leaders in delivering directions towards the growth of the clean switchgear technology in India.
