Vibration Reduction of Grass Trimmer Hand Arm Using Tunable Vibration Absorber
摘要
The purpose of this research is to use the tunable vibration absorber for vibration reduction at the required location on a harmonically excited machine, i.e., a grass trimmer, modeled as Euler-Bernoulli beam. Design and fabrication of dual-mass tunable vibration absorber are done for testing. The absorber’s resonance frequencies are determined utilizing experimental modal analysis, and the absorber is subsequently tuned to the desired resonance frequency employing a plot. The laboratory experimental test and field test are conducted to find hand-arm vibration reduction of the grass trimmer. The results show that a tunable absorber effectively reduces the total vibration of a grass trimmer handle.
