Facet Synovial Cyst
摘要
Facet cyst results from increased degeneration and fluid collection in the facet joint and can cause radiculopathy secondary to nerve compression. It can be seen after open midline decompression (OMD) and ligament reconstruction surgery. Surgical treatment is required upon failure of conservative measures. Scar tissue formation is less after ligament reconstruction compared to conventional decompression. Revision surgery can be performed by removing the horizontal ligament and reattaching it after resection of the facet cyst. Further extended laminectomy and facetectomy necessitating fusion are usually not required.
