The Domestication of Elephants by the Yin 殷 People and Their Southward Migration
摘要
At one time, my friend Yu Yongliang 余永梁 argued in the epilogue to Examples of Oracle Bone Inscriptions- (《甲骨文例》) that the culture of the Shang 商 dynasty (the same people the term Yin 殷 refers to) was greatly influenced by foreign cultures. The reasons he gave were mostly based on Preliminary Report on Archaeological Research in Kansu by J.G. Andersson.
