Cooperation Among Belarus, Ukraine and Lithuania Under the Silk Road Economic Belt Initiative
摘要
With the deepening of globalization and regional integration, an advanced transport system is an important booster of a country or a group of countries’ economic competitiveness, and its degree of advancement is the most important sign of technological progress and civilization. In terms of cross-border transport of merchandise, Belarus occupies a highly advantageous geostrategic position as the route crossing the country is the shortest between Europe and Asia. The combined GDP, export volume, and investment of the Asian Pacific region account for 1/3, 1/4, and 40% of the world’s total respectively. All analyses come to the conclusion that the Asia Pacific-EU trade will be most vibrant, and countries that can lure the flow of goods along this route to their own markets stand to benefit immensely.
