摘要

The swift proliferation of electric vehicles (EVs) within the Indian context necessitates an increased energy supply to sustain the energy-demand balance. The augmented electricity demand for charging these EVs increases the burden on the national electricity grid to provide additional power. India has abundant renewable power resources, and proper implementation of renewable energy resources can achieve the energy requirements of EV charging stations. The current paper represents the design and development of an optimal system for EV charging stations that maximizes the utilization of renewable energy and reduces grid dependency. The capital city of India, New Delhi, is considered for the study. In this paper, a grid-connected renewable-based system has been designed considering technical and economic constraints, policies addressing the adoption of electrically powered vehicles, and their economic sustainability. Simulation results show that the proposed system has a lesser energy cost ($0.0589) than the base system. The proposed system also has fewer carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, a major contributor to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
