Solar Powered Electric Vehicle Charging Station

Due to increasing the dependency on the conventional energy sources which causes extreme climate and energy crises. The transition towards sustainable transportation has spurred the growth of renewable solar-powered electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. This project explores the design and execution of an electric vehicle charging station that is fully solar powered and utilizing bifacial photovoltaic (PV) arrays. The report explores the advantages of bifacial panels in capturing sunlight from both sides, maximizing energy generation for EV charging. The objectives of this paper include the design simulation and execution of the solar powered electric vehicle charging station, selection of appropriate components including PV panels, MPPT controllers, and charging infrastructure, as well as the implementation and testing of the system. The integration of bifacial PV arrays and MPPT systems aims to maximize energy harvest and charging efficiency, thereby promoting sustainable transportation solutions. By harnessing solar energy and employing advanced optimization techniques, the proposed system offers a sustainable alternative to conventional grid-dependent charging stations, reducing greenhouse and carbon gas emissions and promoting energy independence.
