Impact of Rooftop Solar PV Plant on Low Voltage Distribution Power Networks of Educational Building
摘要
The paper shows the impact of rooftop solar photovoltaic system on low voltage distribution power network (LVDPN). The real time data is collected from the 100 KWp rated rooftop PV plant integrated with 33 kV grid line at MITS-DU Gwalior, India. It includes the monthly electricity consumption and usage of the university. The energy consumption during four different time durations that is before COVID period, lockdown period, after COVID period (partial lockdown) and regular period is recorded. The use of photovoltaic system not only enhances economic performance during energy crisis but also aid towards sustainable development with net zero emission of CO2.The maximum demand and net unit supplied analysis has done for four different time periods. The unit generation of solar energy supplied to grid when produced in excess. From the study, it is observed that after the photovoltaic system was installed, the loading on the transformer was reduced significantly and power factor was improved by the use of APFC Panels.
