A Novel Approach of DC-DC Converter for Electric Vehicle Battery Charging

In the Modern era, Electric Vehicles (EVs) are most often used because they are eco-friendly. The Major snag of EVs is battery charging. There are enormous topologies present to charge a battery of EVs. This work proposes a new topology of EV battery Charging with Coupled inductance Improved SEPIC (ISEPIC) Converter. This converter operates at a low-duty ratio with high voltage gain. The preferred topology has one more diode to achieve a high voltage gain than the conventional one. RC equivalent circuit model is considered a Battery model to verify its robustness of charging. A 100 W ISEPIC and 12 V 6 Ah battery model is verified with the Matlab/Simulink Platform. The intended methodology is very simple compared to the existing SEPIC converter. Less number of components are used to achieve the high voltage gain.
