Intelligent Battery Management Systems (BMS) are crucial for optimizing electric vehicles’ performance, safety, and efficiency (EVs). The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) has revolutionized many industries, including automobiles. Integrating ML and deep learning techniques into BMS has significantly improved EV battery performance. This paper comprehensively overviews how AI, ML, and deep learning enhance BMS. It highlights using AI-driven predictive analytics and adaptive control strategies to monitor, stabilize, safeguard, and optimize battery operations in real time. Additionally, it reviews traditional BMS mechanisms and demonstrates the improved performance of EVs by integrating these intelligent technologies. Intelligent BMS can achieve better efficiency and results by leveraging AI and ML, transforming the automotive industry.
