Optical and Morphological Analysis of Carbon Nanospheres

摘要

An investigation was carried out to produce carbon nanospheres of various dimensions by manipulating the temperature of glucose during hydrothermal treatments. The findings revealed that spherical carbon structures were formed under specific glucose concentrations in the aqueous solution and during designated hydrothermal reaction periods. The advent of carbon nanostructures, particularly carbon nanotubes (CNT) and carbon nanofibers (CNF), has spurred extensive research into their synthesis, characterization, surface modification, and applications. The sample was examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) for its structural properties, which showed distinct peaks confirming the amorphous carbon nature. Ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy demonstrated absorbance in the visible spectrum and a bandgap of 1.4 eV. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) was used to analysis the morphological structure, confirming the formation of nanospheres. Carbon nanospheres exhibit outstanding performance in various domains, including drug delivery, heterogeneous catalysis, support encapsulation, and electrode materials.
