Terbinafine (TBF) is a member of the allylamine class of antifungals that was discovered in 1983. It differs from its parent compound naftifine, by the presence of a tert-butyl acetylene substitution of the phenyl ring on the side chain of the molecule, which makes it 10–100 times more potent in vitro [1].
