摘要
Chemical peeling is a procedure where a chemical agent of a defined strength is applied to the skin, which results in a controlled chemical burn, destroying layers of the skin that is succeeded by regeneration and remodelling of the skin, along with improvement of skin texture and surface abnormalities. Various chemical peels have been utilised in dermatology covering a wide range of applications including acne, melasma, acne scars, acanthosis nigricans and photoaging, to name a few. Peeling agents that will be discussed in this section are glycolic acid, salicylic acid, trichloroacetic acid, Jessner’s peel, lactic acid, pyruvic acid, mandelic acid and tretinoin peel.
